POLICE departments up and down the US have entered into a contest betting on who can kill 100 black people in 100 days.

The challenge comes just days after a similar bet made by two Los Angeles gangs who made the pact following the death of Rollin 100 gang member ‘KP’.

“Between the year 2000, and 2014 we’ve shot and killed just 589 people,” Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department Charlie Beck told WWN today. “As you can see this figure is quite small in comparison to the bet we’ve made with other police departments across the country, but we are confident we can do this before the 100 days are up. We are very optimistic.”

So far this year, the Los Angeles Police Department has killed more people than any other law enforcement agency in the United States. However, among other police departments in the country’s ten largest cities, Phoenix had the highest rate of civilians killed by police, with 2.7 killed per million residents.

“Those Phoenix boys sure know how to shoot, but they don’t get the number of blacks that we do in LA, so I’m not that worried,” said Beck. “We’re also way ahead here on black shootings. And when we do it, we do it in style,” he added, hinting at the March shooting of a mentally ill black man homeless man the city’s Skid Row area. “It’s like shooting fish in a barrel; black fish”.

Starting from the 1st of August, the #100blacks100nights police bet is due to end on the 8th of October with over 24 US law enforcement departments expected to compete.
