A CRIMINAL investigation is underway following the discovery of the government’s missing environmental policy at an illegal dumping site, WWN can reveal.

The discovery is a fresh blow to the government as it has been consistently criticised for not doing enough to preserve and protect Ireland’s environment.

“Ah Jesus, how did that end up there? I told the minister to hide it in among some bushes, I mean, this is the first I’ve heard about it,” the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar shared with WWN.

“Did he get rid of my old fridge and washing machine down there too, he said he would… not do something like that of course, that would be illegal,” added the Taoiseach, in a stern rebuke of whoever was responsible for the one of the many illegal dumpings in the Wicklow area in the past 5 minutes.

The policy, a one page piece of paper written in comic sans, was discovered off the side of a road into Arklow, and was next to 15 tonnes of discarded nappies and other waste.

“Now that definitely isn’t ours, alright! As I said, we hope the gardaí find who is responsible for this dumping,” concluded the Taoiseach.

The minister for the environment, a man dressed up as the recycling sign, has thanked the gardaí for safely returning the policy which will now be shredded in an environmentally conscious way.
