A CONCERNED Cavan man has renewed calls for the safe return of fifty euro owed to him by his missing son who vanished over three weeks ago, WWN reports.

The emotional plea from Thomas Looney sparked a flurry of responses with a nationwide hunt for the money reaching local and national TV and radio stations.

“What kind of son goes missing while owing his father money like that, has he no respect?” one caller told Joe Duffy.

“People like that make me sick,” another woman commented, “what if his dad took ill and needed that 50 euros for treatment? Inconsiderate little shit”.

Mr. Looney called on his son Malcolm to do the right thing and return the outstanding balance so he can finally sleep at night.

“We’ve Revolut these days, PayPal, he could even post the note in a letter, anything,” the 57-year-old stated, tears welling at the thoughts, “I just need closure so we can all move on with our lives”.

Malcolm Looney went missing while Kayaking in July, leaving behind only his bicycle and rucksack on a nearby lake shore.

“The first thing I looked for was his wallet,” his dad recalls the moment he found out his son was missing, “I find it very convenient that he took that with him – this is just typical Malcolm”.
