Amazing Gesture: English Team Will Refuse To Shoot In Euro Final As Mark Of Respect For Trump
THE FULL gravity of the events of the last few hours have reached around the world, with even the English football team engaging in the most incredible act of solidarity which has been praised from everywhere from Ireland to Ireland.
“Just wouldn’t be right,” confirmed England manager Gareth Southgate as he said he will set his team up in tonight’s Euro 2024 final against Spain in such a way that would make shooting on goal impossible.
A radical gesture, not shooting or attacking in anyway will send a powerful message out to the world.
“It would be in bad taste to spend the evening shooting on goal when a leading political figure was shot at repeatedly, we support Gareth and the team’s decision. The fans might not like it but it’s not exactly a change in tactics,” added the FA, in a statement released in the last few minutes.
The gesture which is selfless in nature, has been praised by football fans en masse.
“I agree, it would actually to hugely offensive to ‘attack’ given the present circumstances,” confirmed Dublin based neutral football fan Sean Gallen.
“I’d also suggest, to highlight how poor security planning, like at that Trump rally, can leave defences exposed a good metaphor would be to let Spain score five or six goals,” added Cork based impartial football fan Paul O’Sullivan.
