THE DEATH of Muhammed Bhar a 24-year-old Palestinian man with Down’s syndrome, savaged by an IDF combat dog and left to bleed out and die alone, is the latest barbaric act by the Israeli army that has been left largely unacknowledged by the world.

Muhammed was set upon by an IDF dog in his family’s home as it was ransacked by soldiers despite repeated pleas from his mother Nabila. He was then separated from his family by soldiers who held pleading family members at gunpoint in a separate room.

The IDF soldiers, who removed Muhammed’s family from the building and arrested two of his brothers (who have yet to be released) as they protested being separated from him, insisted Muhammed was ‘fine’ and being seen to by doctors.

Returning to the building in the eastern part of Gaza City, Muhammed’s family found him dead on the floor where he was left behind by the IDF with a tourniquet tied to his arm.

Meanwhile, the IDF have said they will look into the claims but added that due to the overwhelming volume of horrifying and inhumane acts their military is accused of it may take some time before they get back to the Bhar family with their report which exonerates the IDF in full and accuses Muhammed of being a member of Hamas.

Due to the dangerous conditions on the surrounding streets, amid clashes between the IDF and Hamas, and the threat of incoming bombings, the family could not take Muhammed to the mortuary or a graveyard and were forced to bury him in a nearby alleyway.
