McIlroy Pictured Using Golf’s First AI Putter During British Open
LAUNCHING his latest attempt to break his major drought, Rory McIlroy has made some noticeable changes to his putting game after the heartbreak at Pinehurst with the introduction of the first AI assisted putter.
Spotting a loophole in the rules of golf which has failed to account for the emergence of vastly developing artificial intelligence, the world no.2 has outsourced his putting game to a robotic putter with Open AI software coursing down its supremely efficient and accurate shaft and head.
“Rory just felt why not use the tech if it’s there,” explained an insider, who grew worried in the weeks after the US Open when McIlroy would back away from putts on practice rounds and ask bystanders to hole out for him.
Operating the club on the opening hole, R&A officials tried to intervene when they caught sight of McIlroy with a putter that was operating a number of pincers and emitting a loud mechanical whir.
“Rory said he’d move to the LIV tour if they touched his putter so that was the end of that,” observed one golf fan who was beside the green at the time.
UPDATE: Due to a failure to update the software and only training the putter on Jean van de Velde’s final round at the 1998 Open Championship meltdown, things have not gone to plan.
