Hotelier Wondering If He Can Convert Linen Cupboard Into Another Bedroom For Refugee

SCOPING out yet another nook and cranny to convert in his already packed ‘hotel’, local owner Terry Price began taking measurements of housekeeping’s linen cupboard in the hopes it gets him another few quid a week. 

“Stack them high, bleed the government dry; that’s what I always say,” Price chuckled to himself as he calculated the amount of money he’s made since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. “The fact we don’t have to keep the same three star hotel standards for this lot is saving me a fortune, hell, I’m even getting free labour out of them – long may it last,” he added, no ordering Magda to now paint the railings outside if she wants to secure that bigger hotel room for herself and her three children.

Deciding to forfeit the seasonal stream of tourists his local seaside town was once used to, Price has no regrets telling regular hotel customers that the inn is full.

“Of course I’ll welcome all of them back once this crowd fuck back to wherever it is, but lets make hay while the financially stable sun shines – I’m sure they’ll all come flooding back to my hotel with open arms,” he reassured himself, while blatantly ignoring how his decisions have had a huge knock-on effect for the local tourist footfall in his home town.

“It’s not my fault all the other hotels have also joined the gravy train and sacrificed all the other small businesses in the town, sure they’d all do the same given the chance – it’s the Irish way,” he concluded.
