Vote: Irish Dictionary’s Word of The Year
OXFORD dictionary announced ‘rizz’ as its word of the year, but what would Ireland’s defining word of the year be? Have your say:
Tubsidy – a sum of money paid by a state body, off the books, to an employee.
Enoching – repeatedly turning up where you’re not wanted.
Patriot – individual so proud of being Irish they set a Luas on fire.
Tá – that word you vaguely remember seeing on Duolingo 12 months ago when you tried learning Irish again for all of five seconds.
Ah shite – uttered when learning of the passing of yet another Irish legend.
Victory – used to describe Irish national team losing in major tournament.
