ORGANISERS for the Cat Laughs festival in Kilkenny have today announced a new headline comedy act for their 25th year in operation, which has already sold out 4 shows in only a matter of hours since going on sale.

Theresa May’s Brexit plan is due to perform at the Set Theatre in the city on all four nights of the festival, from 30 May – 3 June 2019, and will be supported by a reading of Article 50. The plan utilises the comedic technique of improvisation which requires performers to make things up as they go along.

“We found her Brexit plans to be absolutely hilarious and thought debuting it on the comedy scene at Cat Laughs to be the perfect fit,” organiser Matthew Smyth told WWN. “From backstop to a hard Brexit; this show will not disappoint comedy lovers and is sure to raise the roof of the Set Theatre”.

It is understood Theresa May’s Brexit plan, an epic collaboration between the UK’s leading dim-witted politicians, will take its place alongside leading comedian from around the world over the June Bank holiday weekend before going on an international tour during the Summer months.

“The big red Brexit bus will ferry the Brexit plan from venue to venue and tickets are already selling fast,” said producer David White. “Due to popular demand, we expect the Brexit plan tour to last for the next 5 to 10 years, or whenever the UK finally leaves the EU”.
