Awesome Taiwan Plane Crash Video Goes Mega Viral

AN absolutely awesome video of a passenger plane that clipped a road bridge and plunged into a river outside Taiwan’s capital has clocked up an incredible 2 million views in just under 24 hours after being posted to the website ‘YouTube’ yesterday evening.

The video, captured on an unsuspecting motorist’s Dashcam, showed the TransAsia ATR 72-600 turboprop plane spectacularly hit the road bridge as it banked sidelong towards the water, leaving a Michael Bay blockbuster trail of debris including a smashed taxi.

“I was so lucky to be in the right place at the right time,” said the driver of the car, Hang Hsieh, whose camera caught the fantastic footage while commuting over the Keelung River. “At the time I couldn’t really see much as I was in shock, but when I got home to view the footage I knew I was on to a viral video hit!”

Mr. Hsieh immediately uploaded the video to his YouTube account, making sure to click the ‘monetize button’ before sharing.

The viral nature of the video shows no signs of slowing as the public continue to engage with it on a huge and widespread level, some even watching it multiple times.

“Oh My God! See this is why I can never take CGI in movies seriously, this just looks so cool next to all that big budget special effects,” remarked Youtube user ByeNow1994.

The accident happened around 3am GMT this morning, shortly after Flight GE235 left the Songshan airport in northern Taipei en route to the island of Kinmen, with 58 people on board including five crew members. Several more videos have surfaced since the incident, but none have gained the traction of Mr. Hsieh totally awesome footage.

H/T to Hang. Well done.
