Tens Of Blink 182 Fans Devastated Over Split Rumours

TENS of maturing Blink 182 fans were said to be left ‘devastated’ this week after yet more rumours surfaced about the bands agonising split.

After several days trying to actually locate fans here in Ireland, WWN tracked down and exclusively interviewed Thomas Durney –  a self-confessed Blink 182 fan from County Kerry.

“I’m not afraid to admit it; I am a fan and very upset about this whole fiasco,” he said, hiding his face from press photographers. “Tom (lead guitarist) is acting the total dick and is just ruining it for all their fans across the world”.

Durney went on to describe the effect the band’s music had on him, seemingly unaware of the futility of such an exercise.

“Ah it just kills me, you know,” he added in a tone that suggested someone somewhere might actually care about this too.

Following revelations that Tom Delonge allegedly quit the American rock band, remaining members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker publicly told their handful of fans on their Myspace page that they are “sick of covering for him” and vented their anger about his “attitude”.

“Don’t break up guys. You are the greatest. Please work it out,” said one user, who later admitted mistaking the band for Limp Bizkit.

“Hey guys, which one is Tom anyway?” asked another, adding. “I thought ye split up ages ago?”

Blink-182 is considered a key group in the development of pop-punk music; their combination of pop melodies with fast-paced punk rock featured a more radio-friendly accessibility than prior punk bands – whose music actually meant something.
