Emotional Arsenal Fan Delighted Team Get Chance To Be Knocked Out In Next Round

AFTER a flawless and controlled performance by the Gunners in Greece last night, one Arsenal fan has admitted to being over the moon that the 3-0 victory against Olympiackos will give him the chance to see his beloved team knocked out in the next round of the Champions League.

“Just buzzing,” north London native Stephen Carling told WWN shortly after the final whistle had blown, “I’m already counting down the days. Real, Barce, Aletico, honestly we’ll take on all comers. We don’t care who trashes us,” the fan added.

An uncharacteristic performance by Arsenal saw a potentially tough match remain trouble free throughout the 90 minutes as an Oliver Giroud hat trick put the Greek behemoths that are Olympiakos to the sword, leaving Carling feeling more confident than ever in the fact that his team will get a chance to be knocked out in the first knockout stage.

“This is what it’s all about. We’re a big club, and going the way of United would have been tragic for us, we’re going to get a big knockout Champions League night at the Emirates, and you’d hope against hope we’d see the type of thrashing by a better team that lives long in the memory,” a proud Carling confirmed.

Less seasoned fans have pointed out that ties against group winners Zenit St Petersberg and Wolfsburg could provide easy passage to the quarter final stage.

“Look, let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” a cautious Carling encouraged, “I think we’d all prefer to be beaten by a bigger team than the likes of them”.
