‘Malcolm In The Middle’ Returns Just As Local Millennial Finally Got ‘You’re Not The Boss Of Me’ Out Of His Head

A LOCAL Man who successfully fought and overcame a near 25 year battle with a crippling case of ear worm, ridding his mind of a constant playing of the Malcolm in the Middle theme tune last year is now devastatingly back to square thanks to the release of reboot series ‘Life’s Still Unfair’.

“I loved, loved, loved the show back in the day, me and brothers would always have it on,” explained 37-year-old Waterford man Cian Power.

“We’d all sing along to the theme tune, jump about, but then it sort of never left my mind,” added Power, who has had ‘you’re not the boss of me’ echoing in his head since the show debuted in 2000.

What at first was an amusing presence became something that dominated Power’s entire life.

“When my wife walked up the aisle on our wedding day to Clair de Lune, it was there in the back of mind playing loudly. It’s when you don’t want it to appear that’s when They Might Be Giants cranks up and loops and loops,” offered Power, who thanks to years of expert help finally learned how to banish the song from his mind.

Power had enjoyed 14 months of near perfect silence, with no strains of ‘Boss of Me’ blasting through his mind.

“When I saw Bryan Cranston in a trailer for the new series that popped up on my feed, stripped down to his tighty whiteys again, I knew I was in trouble,” Power said.

“It’s like living one a one-song playlist on constant repeat, the song is the boss of me again now, it’s so unfair,” added Power, who now blasts other songs, well-known for their ear worm qualities from 18 different devices in a bid to reverse his circumstances.

“Probably only have myself to blame in fairness, the wife warned me but watched the new episodes straight through seconds after they were released”.
