Last Minute Threat To World Cup As Trump Demands Eric Be Included In USA Starting Line Up

THE WORLD CUP is at risk of not going ahead mere hours before the tournament kicks off after US president made a sudden ultimatum, perplexing the US men’s team and senior FIFA figures.

“Eric is a great soccer player, everyone is saying it, great touch for a big man, just like me but the touching was in other ways, put him in the starting 5,” Trump explained, demanding his son get a starting place against Paraguay on Saturday or he would unilaterally cancel the tournament.

If Trump referring to the US squad as ‘the roster’ wasn’t sickening enough, the president outlined how Trump Sporting Supplies, a company set up by his sons Eric and Don Jr mere minutes ago, would also be supplying all kits, balls and goals to the World Cup.

“The US actively striking and launching a war against a participating country in Iran wasn’t close to being a final straw, nor was random and arbitrary deporting of officials, delegates and fans but maybe Eric up top against Paraguay might help Infantino grow a spine,” hoped one FIFA insider.

At the behest of FIFA chief Gianni Infantino, US manager Mauricio Pochettino outlined a plan by which Eric would be guaranteed to the ‘start the final’ for the US and thus avoiding needlessly wasting his time with the group stage and early knock rounds.

Elsewhere, the White House defended the action of immigration officials who detained and then deported Somalian referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan, stating “they had it on good authority he is that Kony 2012 guy”.
