Emotional Irish Fans In Prague Brought To Tears As Favourite Strip Club Closed Down
WHILE MOST Irish fans are dizzyingly positive about tonight’s game due to good omens such as a cloud that vaguely looked like Jack Charlton, some fans have been left emotional due to the desecration of one of Prague’s most historic buildings and cultural venues.
“I paid a visit there on my stag, then there was the friendly game in ’96, then my son’s stag years later, and the Euro qualifier in ’08, it’s all gone. Gentrifying bastards, it’s the same in Dublin,” confirmed Irish fan Paddy Hoare, as he wept on the ‘closed down’ sign outside Paradise strip club.
“Paradise’s been there for me through thick and thin, and not just because the ladies came in all sizes, but we knew if me, Scazz, John and Doyler turned up paralytic at 3am, it’d always be open, how are we going to celebrate the 10-0 tonight now?” shared another distraught Irish fan, Martin Doolan.
According to veteran supporters, younger football fans hoping to soak up the culture of the city will be missing out on Irish footballing history.
“Yeah it’s the young fellas I feel sorry for, it was in there Tony Cascarino did some poll dancing after the ’96 game. The thought that these memories are robbed from the younger lads, it’s put a dampener on everything unfortunately,” offered Irish fan, Steven Tannon.
Meanwhile, those focused on tonight’s game have said that the good omens continue to accumulate.
“I’ve a good feeling about tonight because it was on the 26th of March in 1279 that the first reported sighting of a Czech man in Ireland, and we burned him at the stake. And Paul McGrath was born on a Friday, and tomorrow is Friday, you can’t argue with these omens,” confirmed optimistic fan Paul Grainger, who plans on calling in sick for the rest of the year if Ireland make past the playoffs.
