Man Gives Himself Little Pat On Back For Watching Some Paralympics Coverage
WITH the 2024 Paralympics in Paris well underway, one local man Devin Driscoll has found himself inspired and overawed by his own undertaking of watching some of the coverage.
“I have to say I was actually quite proud of myself,” Driscoll explained, not outlining what exactly he had done to elicit such a reaction from himself.
Disappointed his wife wasn’t around to witness him making the effort to watch what is in reality one of the most watched sporting spectacles in the world, Driscoll momentarily considered leaving the coverage on until she walked in the door.
“I didn’t pass comment or anything y’know, just watched it on its merits,” said Driscoll of his brief 147 second perusal of coverage on RTÉ before switching over to a repeat The Chase.
His stomach a buzz with butterflies as he reckoned with what a well-meaning and accepting person he is, Driscoll thought long and hard on his contribution to the betterment of society.
“I just think were feckin’ great is all, fair play to them. Did you know they’re called athletes ‘n all too,” said Driscoll in a condescending infatilising tone which will be familiar to many people.
Driscoll would not be drawn on whether or not he would watch more coverage of the games.
“I feel like I’ve done my bit in a way, it’s over to other people to be inspired by me and pick up the baton”.
