US PRESIDENT JOE Biden has been criticised for the controversial prisoner swap deal with Vladimir Putin which saw the return of imprisoned Washington Post journalist Evan Gershkovich but the release, by Germany, of notorious FSB hitman Vadim Krasikov.

However, it was the release of long forgotten Soviet-era boxing hero Ivan Drago that has caused the most consternation.

Drago, known for doping heavily during his fights in the 80s including one in which he killed heavyweight great and US citizen Apollo Creed, had been arrested several years ago in America on alleged spying charges conducted before and after his son’s high profile fight to Adonis Creed.

“Home,” declared Drago in typically verbose fashion after the plane carrying him from the US to Moscow touched down on Russian soil.

Hall of Fame boxer Rocky Balboa, whose speech after his bout with Drago singlehandedly ended the cold war, did not comment on events.

“While I have incredibly strong and detailed feelings about the horrific treatment of people arbitrarily imprisoned by Russia, and am happy to speak at length about these things, I have yet form an opinion of Palestinian prisoners being raped and tortured by the IDF as that is a very complex matter,” confirmed Biden, receiving a rare popularity boost as part of the prisoner exchange.
