Varadkar Issues Apology For Shite Taste In Music

BUSY-as-fuck Táiniste Leo Varadkar has taken time out of his hectic, super-important schedule to defend his decision to attend a music festival in London at the weekend, although he has admitted that he opted for what many would consider the worst possible day of music ever presented to mankind.

Varadkar was pictured at the ‘Mighty Hoopla’ event at the weekend, which featured 80s pop icon Jimmy Sommerville, reformed girl band Atomic Kitten, soul group En Vogue and many more, on a line-up that appears to have been chosen by rummaging around in a sack of names.

“Yes, the event took place on the same weekend Electric Picnic would have been scheduled in Ireland, which isn’t great from an optics point of view. but I’d love to know how anyone expected the Táiniste to walk past a gig that had both Whigfield and C&C Music Factory on it” said a source close to Varadkar, who is currently on a busy tour of Europe.

“Is it a crime to want to see Cheryl Tweedy bash out her hits? If so, then I suppose you’d better arrest the Táiniste the minute he touches back down in Dublin. But I think the more rational among us would agree that he’s had a very challenging year and deserves to listen to shite music in a field like any of the rest of us”.

Our source went on to say that from a regulations point of view, there was nothing that would have stopped anyone in Ireland from attending Mighty Hoopla themselves, with the exception of good taste.
