FOR MANY the sight of a mock-mosque on top of a 12th of July bonfire, is a symbol of yet more festering hate fueled by far-right hate groups, but for others it is a welcome break.

“I’m not gonna lie, it’s good to get the year off,” shared one local Catholic who had to do a double take when the usual vista of a tricolour festooned pallet tower was replaced with a replica mosque.

While there have been calls to remove the mosque, Catholics have appealed for calm.

“Catch yourself on, we deserve a wee break from this craic, I might actually watch one of these yokes now I know we’re not the main accelerant for once,” added another local Catholic.

Speaking as to why they’ve chosen this replica, the pallet collectors were clear in their message.

“Northern Ireland has fallen, that’s why, can’t move for Muslims, aye,” said one local and faller-off-bonfires-from-a-great-height, of the 0.54% of the Northern Irish population that is of Muslim faith.

“See this is problem, yous have no idea what it’s like, it’s an invasion, they’re planning on replacing us all. Any idea what that feels like? No, exactly, but that’s why we’re protesting like this,” confirmed one local Unionist drug dealer.

Later, tempers flared after angry Muslims appeared at the bonfire site, demanding to know if the mosque was a Sunni mosque or a Shia mosque. The tension in the air was soon punctured when they were informed of the exact faith of the fake mosque, prompting one Muslim to say “aye fair play, fuck themmun Shia cunts”.
