Donald Trump Establishes 8 Shot Lead To Sit Top Of Irish Open Leaderboard

DESPITE NOT being officially listed as a participant, not registered with the DP World Tour and yet to hit a ball on the course, US President Donald Trump has established a strong lead at the Irish Open, played this year at his Doonbeg golf course.

“I think it just sums up the guy really, that he can do all this having not touched down in Ireland yet, it’s really incredible stuff,” shared Joaquin Niemann, trailing Trump in second on just -5.

The course located in county Clare, looking out the recently renamed American Ocean, presented tough and gusty conditions none of which phased the US president.

“An 8-shot lead after an open round is amazing, but all the more remarkable that he was first for distance, fairways hit, shanked ball into trees which were ignored and don’t count, balls slyly dropped from his pockets onto the green, and putting. No matter what aspect of the game, he’s bossing it,” confirmed one observer and Doonbeg employee, Eric.

Usually conservative golfing pundits wait until moving day to pin their colours to the mast but many are already suggesting they can’t see past Trump for this year’s title.
