A VIRAL non-AI prank which has been spreading across the country for the past six years, where the government has been leaving families in tiny hotel rooms across the state, is to be ignored, Gardaí have warned the general public.

Images of families of all ages housed for months without basic amenities are real, but if everyone could turn their attention instead to other, more interesting AI-generated crazes, namely the one where people pretend homeless men are desperately sat in their homes, that would be great.

“If the AI did its job properly, it wouldn’t be down-and-out scruffy middle-aged men in the images, but more young families struggling to survive 2020s Ireland thanks to government incompetence,” Gardaí warned. “Please ignore previous warnings asking the public to ignore the AI versions. It’s actually a welcome distraction from the reality of who’s being left where, and for how long.”

In the reality version of life, based on figures the government released – so add a pinch of salt to that – over 16,000 people are now in emergency accommodation, more than 5,000 of whom are children, marking a 13% jump since last year when the majority of Ireland voted in the same political parties who oversaw the viral homelessness craze.

Meanwhile, in other non-AI news, the Central Bank has reduced its housing target forecast from 41,000 to 32,500, while the ESRI is saying just over 34,000 this year. We’re sure the actual figures to be released next year will be far more modest, but yeah, keep pretending there are homeless men in your homes if that makes it easier to digest.
