A NEW DEPARTMENT of No Housing scheme will see landlords receive rent from tenants by having tenants’ wages sent directly into their bank accounts.

“We’ve heard of some horrifying stories of some people keeping their money to pay for food and other essentials and then ending up late with their €1400 rent. This new measure just takes all the uncertainty out of it for the landlord,” confirmed a spokesperson for the Minister for Housing.

“In truth, the majority of renters’ income is really their landlords’ money, we’re streamlining the process to avoid things like excessive purchases of avocados on toast,” added the spokesperson.

While renters will still receive payslips from work, breaking down their earnings, they will have to wait for their landlords to deduct the cost of rent before handing over the remaining money to tenants.

“I dunno, I kind of like it, this way I might avoid the mini-breakdown I have when I see the money briefly in my account before it makes its way to the guy who has spent two years telling me he’ll get that black mold problem sorted tomorrow,” confirmed one delighted tenant.

UPDATE: Powerpoint presentations justifying why your landlord should give you your remaining wages for specific purchases above €5 in value will now become a key cornerstone of the new ‘My Money, Your Wages’ scheme.
