Local Man’s Favourite Part Of Watching F1 Remains Mimicking The Engine Noises
DESPITE a final day of drama which saw three drivers still in with a chance of becoming world champion, for local man Denis Casey there remains one outstanding highlight when watching Formula 1 that simply cannot be topped when it comes to drama and satisfaction.
“Neeeeeeeeeeow, neow, neeeeow, neow,” vocalised Casey, drowning out his 10-year-old’s son’s questions about various race permutations which could have seen Lando Norris robbed of a maiden title.
“Daddy, why is he taking a pit shop now?” queried young Tom only to be met with a middling imitation of the pit crew’s wheel gun as it loosened bolts on a set of tyres and replacing them with a fresh set.
“Neeeeeeeeow, jaysus some speed round that corner,” remarked Casey, growing ever more horse thanks to his constant imitations.
Despite Max Verstappen winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, McClaren’s Norris claimed his first title at the age of 26.
“No idea,” responded 43-year-old Casey when asked by his wife for details about how the 90 minute race panned out and who ultimately won the title.
Elsewhere, Lewis Hamilton spent much of the season imitating what an F1 car should sound like as his Ferrari struggled to keep up with Red Bull, McClaren and the safety car.
