AN IRISH TEENAGER, radicalised by extreme Islamic terrorism content he consumed online several years after converting to Islam, who then went on to repeatedly stab an Army chaplain has received an 8-year sentence ranking him and his crimes as marginally more menacing than a garlic importer, legal experts have confirmed.

“The garlic tax evader guy got 6 years in prison, this young lad got 8 years minus the obligatory good behaviour discount on his sentence; they’re sort of interchangeable crimes in their severity aren’t they? Only fair the young lad could be out before his 21st birthday,” confirmed one analyst of Irish sentencing.

As the perpetrator was under 18 years of age when he committed the crime, he will serve his sentence in a young offenders institution but can be transferred to a prison once he turns 18 by the Minister of Children & Youth Affairs.

“We’d all have our opinions on such things. Some might be frustrated by what they see as a light sentence, but viewed another way the courts are saying trying to stab a man to death in what many people would view as an act of terrorism is close to 8000% worse than when an old lad is caught with mountains of child sex abuse images since most of them walk for that stuff, so it definitely could have been more lenient,” added the analyst, who admits the sentencing habits of Irish judges are a mysterious wonder that defy comprehension much like the North Lights and the popularity of Ant and Dec.

“That this could happen in Ireland sends a shiver down my spine, in fact it makes me sick. Leniency for such things is wrong,” confirmed one member of the public commenting on the historic garlic importer case.

Elsewhere, the victim of the stabbing Fr Paul Murphy extended his forgiveness to his attacker and pleaded for people to not fight hatred with more hatred, a plea that is expected to be roundly ignored.
