UNCONFIRMED reports suggest games of rugby took place in recent days, however WWN Sport has struggled to find any definitive evidence that this claim is true.

“Ireland definitely won three medals in the European Indoors Championships alright, is that what you’re talking about?” the Irish sporting public replied when urged to come forward with information which corroborates the claims a series of international rugby fixtures were scheduled and took place.

Despite this past weekend falling within the 2024/2025 rugby calendar, it may be the case that mischievous pranksters are responsible for spreading the false accusations that competitive rugby matches, in which teams can gain 3 points for a victory and the addition of bonus point for a minimum of four tries, did in fact take place.

“You know I’ve always thought we should focus more on the athletics, just as a public and media. Not enough coverage as far as I’m concerned. Especially over a weekend when there was no rugby to distract from it,” added the public.

“Rugby? On Saturday? That’s such a weird thing to claim,” added one rugby fan, who offered the complete absence on his social media accounts of the usual ‘pint + pitch’ selfies from the Aviva as proof that no games went ahead this week. “In fact, I think unless Scotland win next weekend the 6 Nations didn’t happen at all this year”.
