THE USUAL hysterical begrudgers have reacted negatively to the news Fine Gael’s Paschal Donohoe had an undeclared meeting, not included in his ministerial diary, with Ryanair head honcho Micheal O’Leary.

Unable to consider the reality that the Minister for Public Expenditure and Ryanair CEO got together to in 2022 discuss subjects completely unrelated to aviation, horse racing or government business, some people won’t even believe the list obtained by WWN which suggests the pair discussed the following:

The weather.

The colour of the paint on the walls of the restaurant.

A ranking of their favourite days of the week. Monday topping both Donohoe and O’Leary’s list.

Donohoe, a book lover, gave a number of recommendations. O’Leary recommended a fiction book the title Donohoe can’t recall but the plot involved an eco-terrorist masquerading as a politician restricting the number of passengers at an airport. The hero in the book, a north Dublin politician comes to the rescue of an airplane CEO by offering to help undermine calls to keep the passenger cap in place.

Whether or not Tony really died at the end of The Sopranos.

Isn’t made how some twins have different birthdays, like if one is born at 11.59pm and then the other is born after midnight.

How some restaurants get away with charging €18 for a garlic prawns starter but only give you four measly prawns.

O’Leary remembered a second book recommendation, set in Ireland, about a dystopian future where the government of Ireland actually seriously pursued the country’s largest producers of Co2 emissions through punitive, profit-harming taxation measures.

The fact bookkeeper is the only English language word that has a run of three consecutive double letters.

O’Leary remembered a third book recommendation set in the fictional world of horse racing in which all horses died seconds after an Irish government removed or even reduced by one euro its funding for the horse racing industry.

How rare it is for men to get together and just talk about their feelings like this.
