Couple Who Do Nothing But Complain About State Of Country To Vote Fianna Fáil
NEWS OF AN election couldn’t have come soon enough for Kildare couple Emmet and Michelle Shelly whose simmering rage at the state of the country could well see them vote for Fianna Fáil again.
“House still isn’t anywhere near what we paid for it in 2007, the squeezed middle? We’re about to burst with the bills we have,” explained restaurant manager Emmet, who as the husband of a nurse is well versed in the state of the health service and how overworked some staff are.
“We’ve had to go private as well to get the youngest fella assessed, autism supports are non-existent, nothing in his school,” added Michelle, aggrieved by a feeling that for all the riches Ireland supposedly has, there’s little to show for it.
A number of recent break-ins and lack of gardaí has led to Emmet setting the record for neighbourhood WhatsApp group panic messages.
“I’m constantly having to rearrange childcare arrangements ‘cus work is so slammed, guilting me into staying longer. We don’t live near family because we had to move out years ago ‘cus Dublin was too expensive, so it’s private childcare or nothing,” explained Michelle, who liked the Fianna Fáil candidate she heard on the radio recently.
Asked why despite having the ability to go on 37 minute rants about the state of the roads, transport, cost of living, expense of college, childcare, lack of business supports and a dozen other issues it appears they will be voting in a government who have presided over such things.
“Ah, it’s just not worth the risk is it? Imagine the position we’d be in as a family with another crowd,” explained the Shellys.
