Racehorse Kind Of Likes Being Whipped
ANIMAL rights group PETA has condemned a statement made by racehorse Safeword this week, after the animal defended whipping in the sport, stating that many horses actually liked being ‘spanked’ on the rear.
“You’d be surprised by how many fillies are into it, there’s a whole underground scene going on,” Safeword told the The Sun newspaper in an exclusive interview last Tuesday. “Animal rights activists are now trying to ban the whip, but where’s the fun in that? Where will we get our kicks from then?”
Fuelling the controversy, several new S&M only races have been proposed at designated race tracks across Britain and Ireland, with the gag ball replacing the traditional bit. A variety of different types of whips will be used, along with spurs and full leather body suits for horses.
“It’s just hard to find jockeys these days that are willing to hurt you in the way you want,” Safeword added. “A.P. McCoy was mad for it, but even he couldn’t keep up with the number of whips required to get me going. Now, I just race with nipple clamps. God, I can’t wait to race later”.
It is estimated that 1 in every 5 horses actually love being whipped, but are too afraid to neigh anything for fear of being ridiculed in the media.
