Dublin Commuters Block Traffic Into Ploughing Championships In Revenge Plot Over Fuel Protests

THERE HAS BEEN chaotic scenes on all approaches to the 2026 Ploughing Championships as a number of Dublin reg cars, many of them nifty SUVs that are completely impractical for short journeys on narrow suburban streets, block entrance routes to the country’s premier festival of farming and farming machinery.

“How’d you like it, huh?” one frustrated but misguided Dublin commuter said as they, along with dozens of other commuters, formed a blockade on an access road, restricting passage to the Ploughing.

“And while I’m here, what about them feckin’ immigrants!” added the commuter, as part of a now time-honoured tradition of bringing in additional grievances completely unrelated to the stated reasons for protesting.

As several farmers tried to reason with the protesters, pointing out that the blockade was only hurting and punishing thousands of people who had no role in the fuel protests earlier in the year, Dublin commuters were heard to shout ‘well, that sounds awful familiar’.

“I’ve to give a talk on sucklers, these people have no respect at all” shared one farmer forced to walk over dozens of field in the hope of gaining access to the Offaly venue.

Ploughing Championship ticket holders reported total gridlock, with one route into the venue blocked by a group of commuters on a rogue Luas which was strewn across both lanes of traffic.

“No, I amn’t part of the protests at all, it’s just my battery didn’t charge yesterday so the EV is kaput. You wouldn’t have any double AAs handy?” said one Dublin reg EV owner stuck stranded and battery-sapped outside Screggan.
