Should Aughinish Alumina Be Obliged To Try To Get Russia To Buy Other Irish Products?
WITH IMPORTS into Russia from the RUSAL owned Limerick refinery increasing, many people are asking the moral question; should we all get a piece of the pie, and would it kill Aughinish Alumina to name drop an Irish brand or two and agree to a collab with the Russians?
“Look it’s all well and good they’re making money keeping the Russian troops on the front lines going, but would it put them out to put on the green jersey and tell Vlad and the lads about a local artisanal cheese maker? Or there’s one lovely lady in my town who makes colourful wool hats,” shared one member of the public.
With the refinery transporting over 74,000 tonnes a month to Russia, many people who believe in Ireland Inc and utilising existing connections to promote other Irish businesses.
“While I don’t think it’s right that us Irish are doing business directly with Russia in this way, if we have to, if we must, there’s LOADS of great Irish brands that’d kill to get into a big market like that,” confirmed one expert in exports.
“Not literally kill like, we’ll leave that to the Russian soldiers RUSAL give a dig out to, but I mean make a killing on selling some Aran jumpers and pints of stout, if one business can make millions with Russia, why not the rest of us?” added the expert.
“It’s not just physical products either, we’ve services and training; sales training, HR training, and other forms of training, just saying,” confirmed one out of work former Republican.
