Latest Trump Assassination Attempt Gets 2-Star IMDb Rating For “Poor Pacing And Predictability”
THE LATEST attempt on the life of US president Donald Trump has received just 2.1 out of 10 rating on IMDb, with reviewers citing poor pacing, a lack of originality, and what several described as “the same third-act problems as the others.”
The incident, which marks the third such attempt in recent years, has so far garnered 4,200 user reviews on the film database website, with the overwhelming critical consensus being that while the premise remains compelling, the execution continues to disappoint.
“Seen it all before. 2/10,” wrote user JimPots3578, in the site’s most-liked review. “No tension. No stakes. You know exactly how it ends. We need a better ending.”
“The location work was good – the same hotel Reagan was shot, classy,” wrote Back_And_To_The_Far_Right_Dave from Portland. “But there’s no character development – that female secret service agent character needs to go – and the pacing drags in the middle third, and the protagonist survives again somehow? Please, at this point it feels less like a thriller and more like an ongoing procedural that’s been renewed well past its sell by date.”
A small number of reviewers awarded the event a higher score, though even positive comments were measured. “Better than the golf course one,” wrote Lee_Harvey_Official, giving it 6 stars. “But not as gripping as Butler. Butler was cinema at it’s finest. Sure the secret service scene letting him fist bump like that was far fetched, but that’s cinema!”
Industry analysts noted that audience fatigue may be a growing concern for the Trump universe: “This franchise needs to move away from assassination attempts if it wants to survive past the mid-terms,” wrote film blogger @TruthCinema44. “New writers needed. Maybe an Alien attack on American soil? We haven’t done the alien thing yet.”
