How Gardaí Realised Newstalk Building Was Hotbed For Cannabis Dealing
FOLLOWING the arrest of one person in wake of the seizure of €110k worth of Cannabis at the offices of Newstalk radio station and parent company Bauer Media, an Gardaí Síochána revealed how they learned of this hotbed of drug activity.
“Aside from the idiot ordering €100,000 in cannabis online and having it delivered via the post to his place of work there were other signs” explained Garda Sean Curran, of the Seriously Stupid Crimes Division.
Among the notable developments which led to the employee’s apprehension in what must be the first ever case of drugs being present on the premises of a radio station included:
Pat Kenny repeatedly cutting interviews short on his new weekend show to blast Bob Marley.
Texting into The Cash Machine was replaced by a private Telegram group.
The Hard Shoulder taking on Rizla as a sponsor.
People calling into shows to complain about cyclists weren’t immediately patched through live on air and were instead told to ‘chill out’.
Zero change in the content and output of the Seán Moncrieff show.
A mellower Ciara Kelly couldn’t find much to be outraged about.
Every cooking segment on every show was for a brownies.
The eighteen lava lamps and one The Matrix poster visible in the background of all social media clips of The Claire Byrne Show.
Anton Savage’s sudden insistence that the CIA flooded the US with cannabis because Big Snacks needed to sell more munchies.
