“Why Aren’t They Setting Up A Tribunal With No Prosecution Powers?” Irish Authorities Remain Confused By Arrests In Britain For Misconduct In Public Office
THE ARREST of Peter Mandelson on suspicion of misconduct in public office, which may have involved passing privileged information for individuals to profit from, has left Irish authorities scratching their heads as to the peculiar behaviour by police and the British judicial system.
“Arresting a politician for naked corruption? Very random behaviour, have they not thought of setting up a series of expensive and lengthy tribunals which have zero power to charge and punish any individuals?” Irish authorities said, querying the bizarre behaviour of their counterparts in Britain.
“I don’t get it, someone has been caught being corrupt and your first instinct is to let justice take its course? Surely a politician has a right to suffer zero consequences aside from answering a few questions in a pretend court that has no power? After which they get to go home and continue securing work due to their political connections and the taxpayer is left with a monster bill,” added the Irish authorities.
“I actually didn’t expect to get so emotional seeing those pictures of Mandelson, to see those police officers used in such a basic function of justice when they should have been out racking up lucrative speeding fines with a speed gun, it’s awful to watch,” continued the authorities.
Keen not to see the British political establishment embarrass themselves any further, Irish authorities have made overtures, offering any assistance they can.
“Look, it might sound out of left field, but if your case had a sexual offence component at all, involving children let’s say, as unlikely as that may be, we could advise on how to thoroughly investigate and by the end of that leave every institute proven to be complicit in tact and still central to every day life,” concluded the authorities here.
