Background Character Coughing Early In Movie Probably Fine
MOVIEGOERS in a local Waterford cinema have confirmed that the background character who coughed loudly during the film’s opening scene is “probably grand” and “almost certainly not foreshadowing anything at all,” WWN has learned.
The man, credited only as “Coughing Victim #3”, delivered a raspy, medically concerning hack mere seconds after the protagonist walked past him, but audiences insist this is just a small creative flourish and in no way a deeply symbolic omen of the apocalypse to come.
“People cough all the time,” one viewer remarked, despite the camera lingering suspiciously long on the character as orchestral music dipped ominously. “Absolutely nothing to worry about. There’s a bad old dose going around anyway.”
Film analysts, however, believe the cough may carry subtle narrative weight, given that the character appeared grey-skinned, sweaty, surrounded by concerned extras, and collapsed into a pool of his own blood shortly after the protagonist left frame.
“Total coincidence,” insisted another viewer, scrolling through their phone during the scene where epidemiologists explicitly mention a mysterious patient zero who was “last seen coughing in the town square.”
Meanwhile, sources within the movie report that Coughing Victim #3 will not appear again until the final act, where he is expected to return in a much more important and significantly less alive capacity.
