Return Of Carry On Kegs Seen As Dublin Airport Ease Liquid Rules
THE FIRST holiday makers making the most of updated security clearance rules at Dublin Airport have begun filtering through departures, with sightings of at least a dozen passengers bringing a carry on keg WWN can reveal.
“You’d almost forget this used to be the normal way of things; you, the missus, your 10kg suitcase and your in-flight carry on keg. Glad they finally saw sense and relaxed the liquid rules,” confirmed Dublin airport frequenter Jamie Dunne.
“It was always a hassle trying to find a zip lock plastic bag big enough to go around your keg and then they banned it altogether. It’s great common sense prevailed,” confirmed another passenger.
Meanwhile, the Boyfriend Union of Ireland has criticised the changes which sees no limits on the number of liquid items permitted as they believe their girlfriends will force them to give over even more space in their suitcases.
With passengers no longer required to take liquids, gels and electronic items out of their hand luggage and the 100ml limit raised to 2 litres, security staff have also complained about having less reasons to engage in an unreasonable power trip that threatens to ruin someone’s holiday before it’s even got off the ground.
“My favourite bit is all the security staff bulling ‘cus they don’t have the power anymore to stop me, haha,” offered local man Pete Stacey who, judging by the 40 kilos of cocaine he was wearing a gilet, misunderstood the news reports on the new rules and their implications.
