Guy At Party Actually A Pretty Prominent Letterboxd Reviewer
A DUBLIN man at a house party is weighed down with the weight of the party’s focus being on him now that he has disclosed the fact he’s written several widely liked reviews on the movie forum site Letterboxd.
“Oh, sorry, I only mentioned it ‘cus I like figured one of the lads probably already told you,” explained Cormac Keenan, broadcasting into the ear of a party over the loud music.
Keene, whose user name ‘KeeneEye’ is one he regrets now as obvious and ‘tropey’, couldn’t help but feel a little put out by the fact it would fall to him to have to expand everyone’s mind at this party to new cinema experiences.
“I’d say my reviews are mostly inspired by the French new wave but no, the one that sort of ‘made my name’ was for Titanic it went something like ‘Sharing a piece of wood? In this economy?'” Keene shouted at a woman who didn’t ask, as Cardi B’s Magnet blasted from the kitchen speakers.
While Keene was caught up in another conversation who started up unprompted, this time about how those who ‘logmaxx’ on Letterboxd are anathema to the why the site exists, friends felt the need to step in.
“Can’t you just get sick on someone the moment you’re about to seal the deal like a normal person, instead of trying to tell people Melville is ‘the Goat’,” friends pleaded.
