Dublin Canal Walk Named Among Best Places To Score Gear In The World
DUBLIN’S Royal Canal Walkway has been named as one of the best places in the world to score a bit of gear, with the city centre boardwalk coming not too far behind, WWN reports.
The popular walking and cycling routes which run through Dublin’s north inner city landed at number 23 on the best drug hotspot list in the World Druggie Awards.
“We couldn’t have done this without all the young lads on e-scooters who tirelessly supply the boardwalk and outer walkways with class A’s,” a spokesperson for a local drugs gang said, thanking those involved for putting the network on the international drug map.
The open air drugs market came behind some of the world’s most notorious hotspots like the favelas in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, and many others.
“Big shout out to the government too for their continuous underfunding of specialised garda units. Without their incompetence none of this would ever have happened,” the spokesperson added, before being stabbed up for talking to the press.
This short stretch of the wider Royal Canal Greenway was opened in 2022, costing just under €31m, and provides 2.1km of the finest drug stalls a user could find.
“There’s everything you could ever want here. We call it Dundrug Shopping Centre,” one shopper told WWN.
Meanwhile, representives in many rural towns across the country have called the award a farce, stating none of their towns or villages ever get a look in despite being even worse than the capital itself.
