Gardaí Stop Suspicious Audi Going Under The Speed Limit
TRAFFIC gardaí have taken to Twitter to post an image of a suspicious looking Audi which they pulled over after clocking the driver going 110kmph in a 120kmph zone.
“We witnessed the car also using indicators so immediately our suspicions were flagged,” arresting Garda Gerry Moore said, explaining his reasoning.
It is understood the male driver in his late 30s was also very polite and courteous to gardaí when approached raising concerns as to his motives.
“I asked the driver if he realised that he’s driving a brand new 3 litre TDI and he simply replied ‘yes’,” Garda Moore recalls, “at that moment I realised the man wasn’t an Audi driver at all and tore him out of the driver’s seat and threw him to the ground before placing him in handcuffs”.
Following further investigation, gardaí found the driver to be registered to another, less expensive vehicle and that he had borrowed the car from a friend to go on a Tinder date.
“Obviously he was trying to impress some quare one he met online and thought he could get away with passing himself off as an Audi driver,” Garda Moore added, “although he didn’t break any laws per say, this form of catfishing is not acceptable so I gave him a good boot up the hole before telling him to feck back into the car, go home and cancel his date”.
The driver apologised to gardaí and promised to never drive an Audi like that ever again.
