“They Met When He Was 14 & She Was His Teacher, I’m Sure It’s Fine” – Relationship Experts Weigh In On Macron Spat
DISMISSED as ‘horsing around’ by French president Emmanuel Macron, the footage of the 47-year-old Macron being shoved in the face by his 72-year-old wife Brigette while disembarking a plane in Vietnam has nevertheless caused a sensation.
However, relationship experts were quick to weigh in and calm the internet’s wild imagination:
“I think it’s pretty normal for a teacher to discipline their student, no?” veteran couple’s counsellor Martha Downes told WWN.
“Speaking as a man in his 50s with an eye on one or two of my daughter’s friends, I think people should stop this small minded gossip and leave them alone,” highlighted psychologist John Burden.
“As a body language expert the clip is too brief to truly assess with any accuracy so I refuse to,” explained body language expert who will never get a call from a tabloid again, Noel Murphy.
“She was clearly annoyed at him for only having one mistress, that was the French hand gesture for ‘you’re not being French enough’,” offered body language expert, Yvonne Smith.
“It’s horsing around, just like he said, you know when you go round to the back of the horse and it kicks you,” counsellor Michelle Gordon.
“They met when he was 14 which means he’s known Brigette for most of his life and she had 39 years of life experience before that meeting, so I’m sure she knows when someone is being annoying and action needs to be taken,” added therapist Hannah Kinsella.
“I think footage of one of the world’s most powerful men being struck in the face shows that no matter how elevated your position is, no one is immune from being a victim of abuse by a spouse… oh, what? Sorry, we’re not doing that today? Ok, eh, maybe she was trying to remove some of her lipstick from his collar?” offered psychologist Jean Reardon.
