Homelessness Figures Among Penta Group Staff Expected To Rise In Wake Of Varadkar Appointment To Company
STAFF at Penta Group, an international PR firm, have been warned by experts in Irish politics to brace for increased homelessness among their ranks after former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was hired in an advisory role by the firm ‘for his expertise’.
“I don’t get it, what interest would a PR firm have in an applicant whose CV reads ‘increased homelessness to record numbers’?” queried one hiring expert.
Varadkar is said to have wowed his new bosses in an interview in which he responded ‘it can’t be solved overnight’ to every question posed.
“He’s bringing his expertise…,” began Penta Group’s announcement on Varadkar’s appointment, which read more like a harrowing threat of a nightmare situation in which staff at the firm become homeless and are told ‘maybe enriching investment funds and landlords will solve it’.
Ahead of taking up the role in April, Varadkar has already identified the Penta Group’s canteen as a place to improve profit margins with a ‘people taking extra chips cheat us all’ advisory campaign.
“Weird career move, why doesn’t he just write a book like Eoghan Murphy and say ‘yes we knew we were making things worse but didn’t do anything to stop it because no one was really arsed’?” proffered one political commentator.
“Also FYI, if you have confidential documents, you might want to make them ‘leak proof’,” Penta staff were warned.
