Muslim Man Gives Mecca 2 Stars On Trip Advisor
THE obligatory once-in-a-lifetime trip to Mecca, the Saudi Arabian birthplace of Muhammed and holiest city in the Islamic faith, has failed to impress one Muslim lad who gave the trip only two stars on holiday review website TripAdvisor.
Citing poor accommodation, overpriced restaurants and overcrowding as the main issues he had with his trip, Aamir Kaleel stated that his pilgrimage to the holy city was “a disappointment”, and that he would be unlikely to return anytime soon.
Mecca, regarded as one of the most important religious cities in the world, attracts millions of Muslims from around the world due to Islamic teaching which dictates that every able-bodied Muslim with the capacity to travel must make a pilgrimage once in their lifetime.
Kaleel, 25, paid over €4,000 to attend his first Hajj last week, missing an opportunity to go to Lanzarote with the lads from work.
Upon arriving in the Saudi Arabian city, he set about the mandatory six days of prayer and Islamic rites, while battling against huge crowds and fuck all Wi-Fi.
“I’m going to need a holiday after this,” wrote Kaleel, in his short review of Mecca on TripAdvisor.
“The city itself is beautiful, but it’s just way too packed and there’s no good restaurants and the nightlife is shite. If you’re looking for non-stop praying and getting shoved around then I guess it’s ok, but I expected more for the price of it. Oh, and don’t get me started on the Muslims from Germany who would get up early in the morning and reserve all the good praying spots by laying their prayer rugs on the ground, the bastards”.
Despite the negative backlash, Mecca is already taking bookings for Hajj 2016.
