‘Thousands Of Objections’ Received As Council Apply To Erect ‘Brief, Fleeting Moment Of Happiness’
A LOCAL COUNCIL has been on the receiving end of thousands of strident objections after it announced plans for the installation of ‘a brief, fleeting moment of happiness and possible joy’, WWN has learned.
As is required, the council made the plans public and invited residents to have their say which in turn led to some 3,417 angry letters of objection from those living in the area.
“Hang on now, we weren’t consulted at all! This is a disgrace” read one objection, submitted in the form of a red hot ball of iridescent flames.
“And who is this happiness for exactly? They say ‘fleeting’ but all know what that means, they’re trying to sneak in sustained and lasting happiness and they think we’ll just roll over and take it,” raged another resident, who says that in all their 55 years of living in the area, there have been no calls for happiness of any kind.
“If it was for me, the happiness, that’d be different but who is getting to be happy, y’know? Who specifically? I can guess. It’s not on!” another local resident with an address 417km away wrote in a submission.
“Don’t mess with the area, it doesn’t need this. It’s best left alone,” said one man in his letter of objection, outlining how overlooking the planned fleeting happiness could have a detrimental impact on his well-being, not to mention the local bat population.
