“I’m Just Trying To Make Ends Meet” Rotunda Consultants On €250k Defend Private Nixers

NEWS that public-only contract consultants continue to carry out private procedures on Rotunda hospitals grounds despite their contract banning that precise practice has seen doctors speak out to explain their plight, WWN can report.

“Honestly, it’s the likes of me I feel sorry for,” confirmed one consultant.

“I’m repairing meat ends to make ends meet and somehow, I’m the bad guy?” one surgical consultant in the maternity hospital shared as he told a public patient who was knocked back down a waiting list due to a nice nixer opportunity opening up.

The nixer culture within the medical consultant profession is so verboten that to disguise this practice they often use code words such as ‘private practice’ to throw people off the scent that they’re just doing nixers like a plumber with a full-time job at a big firm does.

“That’s how bad the cost of living has gotten, with entry level consultant jobs only €250k a year, sure that gets you nothing these days, and on top of that they’re saying I can’t use Rotunda equipment to carry out my nixers, I have to get my own?” another stressed out doctor shared as she asked her secretary to make up some bullshit about why a patient’s appointment has been move to next week so she can carry out a private procedure.
