A EUROPEAN UNION funding mechanism which distributes funding to farmers for food production and rural development is facing calls for expansion in order to include struggling bot farms, WWN can reveal.

Bot farms, characterised by walls of phone screens carrying about programmed and automated interactions with humans, are often used to sow division and misinformation however many are struggling to survive and turn a profit.

“With no truly big elections of international consequence this year, not as many people want to pay the good honest bot farmers here to spread incredibly transparent bullshit about foreigners,” explained one bot farmer calling for the CAP to cover his section of agricultural pursuits.

“But countries run on farming. Without us, comment sections don’t have arguments about immigrants even if the article above it is a cake recipe. We’re not asking for a handout, just what other farmers get, c’mon EU, do the right thing,” pleaded the bot farmer who fears he’ll have to turn off the power to as many as 1200 phones pumping out divisive straw man arguments.

Advocates for the struggling bot farmers warned of a world without their presence and how it would only be when they’re gone forever they would be truly missed.

“Think, one day you’d be scrolling Twitter and you wouldn’t be spammed with porn, anime porn, or crypto scams. Do you want to live in that world? No, didn’t think so” shared one political leader hoping to surge to power with the help of ever coarsening online rhetoric driven by large language models impersonating people.
