Nan Describes Playful Courting Which Would Land Grandad In Jail Now

LOCAL NANA Carmel Scollen has once again regaled her adult grandchildren with the story of her courting at the hands of their dearly departed grandfather, Noel.

Describing a number of romantic efforts which would surely result in imprisonment for their grandfather today, 84-year-old Scollen became misty-eyed recollecting the amorous affection that was showered upon her.

“Can you believe that now kids, that’s love. A whole month. Every day he waited outside the school gates for me, and sure I thought myself very ordinary. What interest had a 24-year-old in a 15-year-old like me hahaha,” shared Scollen, prompting her granddaughters to immediately set about erasing the story from their minds.

“But that was your grandfather, a tough nut sure but a romantic softy really,” added Scollen who went on to tell her grandkids of the surprise trip her paramour treated her to which sounded eerily like a kidnapping.

“I had no interest in going with him then, sure I had school the next day and oh god, Daddy and Mammy were sick with worry. And us up in Donegal, sleeping in his car because he couldn’t afford a hotel, love’s young dream,” added Scollen, as she somewhat compromised every loving memory her grandchildren had of their grandfather.
