More Good News: Hotels Housing Asylum Seekers Investigated For Fraud
REPORTS that forensic accountants have been hired to investigate ‘significant fraud’ by some hotels housing asylum seekers should be the news that convinces weary members of public that the coalition government is on top of the immigration issue.
“Ukrainian refugees recently reported maggots and worms in their food and others shared stories of rats and mice in their accommodation,” explained one official, who would clarify if this was an intentional plan pursued by government to put off incoming asylum seekers.
The news that some accommodation providers have been overcharging the State for accommodation and claiming payments for refugees who have moved on from the hotels comes in the wake of refugees trying to alert authorities to persistent health and safety issues due to the conditions.
“We could have perhaps seen this news go unremarked upon, but it is really a credit to some of you Irish people who view asylum seekers as human or something, that this is actually being discussed, fair play,” insisted a government spokesperson who said they would have to go back to the drawing board when it comes to getting away with inhumane treatment and the burning of State cash.
UPDATE: The Department of Integration has asked the public to prepare for news that a group of forensic accountants overcharged them for their work, leading to the fresh hiring of another forensic accounting team in pattern that will go on forever.
