Ask Anne: I Think My Wife Might Be Having An Affair With The Naked Man Currently Climbing Out Of Our Bedroom Window

Dear Anne
My wife has hammered me previously for my habit of jumping to conclusions, I’m aware that my urge to rush to judgement has caused problems in our marriage and I don’t want to disrupt what has been a really solid patch in our family life by going off the deep end and diving into a pool of paranoia and overreaction.
However, the semi-hard naked man leaping from my marital bed and swan-diving out our bedroom window onto the garage roof has me thinking. My wife, who was also naked and on all fours claims the man was helping her look for her car keys, says I have trust issues and a marriage can’t work if I’m just going to issue baseless accusations.
While the urge to accuse your wife of having an affair, given the circumstances, is strong it’s important to consider all possibilities.
Before accusing your wife it might be time to look inward; perhaps you need to work on your own insecurities if something as simple as your naked wife losing her keys has you spiralling like this. This man, he presumably helped your wife look for the keys in multiple positions, and filmed it to ensure they weren’t missing the keys in plain sight somewhere, but you were too busy inventing a nefarious scenario to even say thanks for helping? He leapt from the window. Maybe he had been given news of a family emergency on the phone and is facing a devastating tragedy but you’ll never know because you were so caught up in your negative fantasies.
Do the work. Work on yourself. And maybe next time your wife loses her keys, you can help her and the naked man rather than running to an advice column with your same old paranoid bullshit!
