TROUBLING news coming from the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy in the last few minutes as the much anticipated gold medal snowball fight match between Austria and Norway had to be abandoned after 14 athletes were injured, WWN Sports can confirm.

One of the oldest and most keenly attended events at the Olympics, hot favourites Austria were ahead on points in the first half but a controversial and illegal stone-packed snowball thrown by Norway led to Austrian captain Felix Bauer losing his front teeth.

In the melee that resulted both sides endured injuries including testicle frostbite, a broken leg, concussion, a bite of a testicle and several worrying brain freezes.

Organisers condemned the scenes while admitting they were also highly entertaining.

“That an event which rewards the best and most ferocious throwing of snowballs is as regrettable as it is unforeseen,” confirmed IOC president Kirsty Coventry.

As a result of the violent scenes, this evening’s competitive ice-sculpting event has been postponed due to the fact the finalists in that discipline are Austrian and Norwegian and tensions remain high.

This just the latest unfortunate mishap to plague the games after yesterday’s incident involving an AI-powered ski lift becoming sentient and eating three IOC officials.
