FRIENDS ARE rallying around local Irish mother Bernice O’Hallihan and exploring every possible therapeutic measure to help her recover from the news that her awful 31-year-old adult daughter Sarah believes that she knows what’s best for herself and will no longer be taking on any advice or instruction from her mother.

“Mother of all that is divine Bernice, she didn’t say that Bernice? Surely? The almighty pup,” comforted friends of 67-year-old O’Hallihan, as she relayed the events which led up to Sarah expressing the sentiment that perhaps as an adult in her 30s all her life decisions can’t be dictated to her by her mother.

Doctors who have seen to the Waterford pensioner have said there is not be enough Xanax in the world to reverse the effects of Sarah’s insistence she is a fully grown adult that doesn’t have to bend to her mother’s will.

“That’s Dublin that’s done that to her Bernice, she was never like that before losing the run of herself up there,” counseled one of O’Hallihan’s friend, trying to explain the outrageous outburst by Sarah, who moved to Dublin some 13 years ago.

Damning evidence in the form of texts, which showed Sarah informing her mother that she would be taking up a masters course in college in the evenings and changing jobs while parting on amicable terms with her longterm boyfriend Alan, further implicated Sarah is a dastardly conspiracy to put her mother in an early grave.

“She hasn’t a job lined up, she just up and left the current one. I tried ringing her boss to tell her Sarah made a mistake but you can guess how madam reacted to that? And her Alan, an accountant, there won’t be anything but frogs out there now at her age. She’s just doing all this to hurt me, I know it,” explained O’Hallihan to murmurs of agreement from friends.
