Could The Price Of Mini Eggs & Not Record Homelessness Be What Finally Gets Irish People Protesting?

MASS PROTESTS that lead to a huge shift in policy and politicians delivering tangible improvements in housing provisions have thus far remained elusive, but could a 256-gram €10 bag of Mini Eggs change all that and finally be what gets the Irish public on the streets?

“I’m not talking your usual weed smoking hippy from Galway, I mean thousands of men and women walking out of their workplace, downing tools until a huge issue is solved. News that the number of 65s in homelessness has doubled in the last five years hasn’t done that but I really think the great Mini Egg rip off of 2026 could be the end of this government,” shared one expert in mass public movements and protest.

Many ‘last straws’ including autistic children being denied an education, 24,000 Mother and Baby Home Survivors being excluded from a redress scheme, children being denied spinal surgeries, government parties campaigning for re-election based on fake housing completion numbers, the Children’s Hospital fiasco and permitting X to continue operating in Ireland as it facilitates the creation of CSAM have not resulted in the mass protest. However, Mini Eggs are delicious and shouldn’t cost that much.

“For example, tomorrow week, on Friday the 30th of January the Dept of Housing will announce the revised homelessness figures, and it will be a new record yet again but there won’t be a peep out of people, the media, anyone really. But I think nothing brings forth a sense of action and demand for justice like that little treat you look forward to all week costing an arm and a fucking leg for no discernible reason,” offered another expert in civil unrest.

While it’s unclear if this Mini Egg rip off will result in mass mobilisation, illegal online sales of weapons in Ireland have increased by 3000% since the news.

Meanwhile, the government has said it has no intention of solving the housing crisis and ‘fuck you’, but it had heard that the price of Mini Eggs is the fault of immigrants.
